The BSCenery (bee-es-seenery) Program at SUNY Buffalo State began in 1996, offering paid internship opportunities to high school students from the Buffalo Public Schools.
Students empolyed through the program spend 7 weeks on the Buffalo State campus during the summer assisting with horticultural maintenance, gaining work experience, and learning proper industry standard techniques from CNLP certified technicians.
As a first job experience for most in the program, students learn to develop healthy working habits like punctuality, teamwork, effective communication, and work appropriate decorum. Students leave the program with a strong understanding of the value of hard work.
